The Ministry is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure that all fresh produce entering the country undergoes rigorous inspection, maintaining the highest possible standards for food safety.

This precautionary stance follows a recall initiated by Taylor Farms de Mexico on August 5, after the US Food and Drug Administration identified their iceberg lettuce as the source of a widespread outbreak across 27 American states. As investigators continue to trace the contamination, the UAE authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant. Consumers are reminded to practice safe food handling by thoroughly washing all fruits and vegetables before eating and to purchase items exclusively from approved retail outlets to minimize any risk to public health.
