Kuwait Restores Airspace Operations Following Regional Tensions

Thu, Jun 11, 2026(1h ago)World

Kuwait International Airport has officially resumed normal flight operations after a brief, precautionary closure triggered by renewed Iranian aerial attacks on Thursday. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation confirmed that the temporary suspension, which began in the early hours of the morning, was lifted once officials determined that the immediate security threat had passed. During the brief closure, the country’s military remained on high alert, successfully engaging hostile targets with its air defense systems to protect national sovereignty.

In the wake of the incident, Kuwait Airways has moved to restore its full flight schedule and is working to accommodate passengers affected by the earlier disruption. To ease the burden on travelers, the airline is waiving cancellation and modification fees for flights that were originally set for June 11. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a stern condemnation of the strikes, labeling the repeated aggression a blatant violation of international law. Kuwaiti officials emphasized that the nation remains committed to defending its territory and will not tolerate actions that undermine regional stability.
