Saudi Arabia Probes Improper Use of Exosome Injections

Wed, Jun 17, 2026(1h ago)World

The Saudi Ministry of Health has officially launched an investigation into the administration of exosome injections following widespread concerns regarding how these treatments are being marketed and used. Authorities have already begun questioning the two physicians at the center of the controversy and are currently finalizing the necessary regulatory procedures to address the alleged misconduct. This intervention highlights the government's firm stance that all medical procedures must strictly align with licensed, approved, and scientifically backed protocols to ensure patient safety across the Kingdom.

This regulatory crackdown stems from a surge in the popularity of exosome-based therapies, particularly within the cosmetic and aesthetic sectors. The Ministry emphasized that just because a product is cleared for external cosmetic application, it does not grant practitioners the authority to inject it or promote it for unapproved medical purposes. Officials have issued a stern reminder to all healthcare professionals to uphold ethical standards and follow clinical guidelines, warning that any deviation from established safety regulations will be met with strict accountability as the authorities continue to prioritize public health.
