Indian Travelers Can Now Use UPI for Global Attractions
Indian travelers heading to the UAE and Singapore can now enjoy a more seamless experience when booking tickets for top tourist destinations. Thanks to a new initiative by the National Payments Corporation of India’s international wing, NIPL, visitors can use their preferred UPI apps to make online payments directly. This expansion, highlighted by the Ministry of Finance, simplifies the booking process for major landmarks, removing the hassle of currency conversion or traditional international payment methods.
In the UAE, this partnership with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment allows tourists to book tickets for the iconic Burj Khalifa, while in Singapore, collaborations with FOMO Pay cover major attractions at Resorts World Sentosa, including Universal Studios and the Singapore Oceanarium. This move is part of a broader push to make India’s digital payment infrastructure globally accessible. With UPI already accepted in ten countries—including France, where it can be used for Eiffel Tower tickets—the network continues to grow, with Uzbekistan expected to be the next destination to adopt this convenient payment system.
