A devastating suicide bombing struck a crowded area in Pakistan’s Swat district on Sunday, resulting in the loss of seven lives and leaving over 20 people injured. The explosion took place during an ongoing protest, turning a public demonstration into a scene of chaos and tragedy. Local authorities confirmed that among the fatalities were four police officers who were on duty at the time of the blast.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Fida Hussain reported that the assailant detonated a vest packed with explosives directly within the crowd. Emergency responders rushed to the scene to transport the wounded to nearby medical facilities, where many remain in critical condition. As investigations continue, the incident has sparked widespread alarm, highlighting the persistent security challenges currently facing the northern region of the country.
