Jordanian Authorities Intercept Illegal Arms Smuggling via Thermal Balloon
Jordanian security forces have successfully intercepted a unique smuggling attempt involving nine automatic firearms that were dropped into the Karak Governorate via a thermal balloon. According to officials from the General Security Directorate, the operation began after reports of a suspicious package were discovered in the Muhy area. Local police were quickly dispatched to secure the site and coordinate a thorough inspection of the recovered materials.
Upon examining the contents of the bag, authorities discovered the cache of automatic weapons along with several location-tracking devices used to navigate the delivery. Preliminary findings suggest that these illegal items originated from the country's southern border region. The investigation remains ongoing as security officials work to identify those responsible for using this unconventional aerial method to bypass border surveillance.
