Sat, Sep 19, 2026(1h ago)World

The United Arab Emirates has officially condemned a devastating school shooting that occurred in the South Cotabato province of the Philippines, an incident that left several students dead and many others wounded. In a formal statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the UAE’s firm stance against all forms of violence and extremism, emphasizing that such criminal acts are a direct threat to the safety and stability of society. The government extended its deepest sympathies to the grieving families and the Filipino people, while wishing a full and rapid recovery for those currently being treated for their injuries.

The tragedy unfolded on Friday in the town of Banga, where a gunman opened fire on his peers. Local authorities, including Mayor Albert Palencia, confirmed that the attack claimed the lives of three students, including a 16-year-old suspect who reportedly took his own life following the assault. Seventeen other teenagers, ranging in age from 14 to 17, sustained injuries during the shooting, with some reported to be in critical condition. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community as investigations continue into this heartbreaking loss of young lives.
