Another Indian National Succumbs to Injuries from Riyadh Airport Attack
The death toll from the tragic October 10 attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has risen to 14, following the death of another Indian national who passed away in the ICU. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed the news on Wednesday, noting that the victim had been battling critical injuries for 25 days. While the embassy has chosen to withhold the victim's identity for privacy reasons, they expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and have pledged to provide full support, whether the family chooses to repatriate the remains to India or conduct the funeral in Riyadh.
The assault on the Saudi capital, which saw back-to-back strikes on October 10 and 11 claimed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels, has drawn widespread international condemnation. The victims of the initial attack include individuals from diverse nationalities, reflecting the global reach of the tragedy. As tensions persist, the Saudi-led coalition has vowed to retaliate for the strikes, which have disrupted regional aviation and escalated the ongoing conflict that flared up again earlier this year. The situation remains volatile as the international community continues to monitor the impact of these strikes on regional stability.
