Iran Cites US Inconsistency and Israeli Aggression as Barriers to Diplomacy
Tehran has officially expressed frustration over the stalled diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict with the United States. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei attributed the sluggish progress to a profound lack of trust and shifting demands from Washington, which he argued are complicating the negotiation process. Baghaei emphasized that the American side frequently presents contradictory positions, labeling this approach either an ineffective negotiating tactic or a sign of internal policy disarray. He urged the U.S. administration to finalize a clear and consistent stance to break the current impasse.
Furthermore, Iran maintains that it views Israeli military operations in Lebanon as deeply interconnected with U.S. regional policy. Baghaei asserted that any meaningful path toward peace must include the enforcement of the Lebanon ceasefire. Tensions remain particularly high as Israel continues its strikes in Beirut, which Tehran perceives as a direct violation of regional stability. Additionally, Iran has accused the U.S. of breaching ceasefire terms through provocations in its southern provinces, warning that such actions only serve to deepen mutual suspicion and maintain the legitimacy of Iran’s defensive posture in the region.
