Emirates SkyCargo Strengthens Fleet with New Boeing 777-300ERSF
Emirates has officially marked a milestone in aviation logistics by becoming the first airline to deploy the Boeing 777-300ERSF, a converted passenger-to-freighter aircraft. The plane, registered as A6-EBK, recently completed its inaugural commercial flight from Hong Kong to Dubai, hauling an impressive 100 tonnes of cargo. This specific conversion is a strategic addition to the airlineās fleet, offering significantly more space than the standard Boeing 777-F. With 811 cubic metres of cargo volume and 47 pallet positionsāa 25 percent increase in capacityāthe aircraft is perfectly suited for the booming e-commerce sector, which continues to demand more volume for global shipments.
Badr Abbas, the Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted that this induction is a key move in enhancing the airline's operational flexibility by repurposing older passenger jets to satisfy rising air freight demand. This aircraft serves as the sixth freighter to join the company since March 2026, building upon a fleet that already includes five Boeing 777-F models. Looking ahead, Emirates has an ambitious expansion plan in motion, with another five production freighters and an additional converted 777-300ERSF scheduled to join their operations by the end of 2026.
