Emirates Prepares for a Busy Summer with Thousands of Young Solo Travelers
As the summer school holidays kick into high gear, Emirates is bracing for a surge in young independent travelers. Over the next two weeks, the airline expects to support more than 3,500 children flying solo across its global network. This trend is driven by families heading out from Dubai for vacations or expatriates sending their children home for the break, with popular routes spanning from the UK and Russia to India and Kenya. Over the past five years, the carrier has safely transported over 250,000 children, underscoring the trust parents place in its dedicated youth services.
The airline provides a comprehensive support system for children aged 5 to 12 traveling alone, ensuring they are cared for from the moment they arrive at the airport until they reach their destination. Upon check-in at Dubai International, young flyers get access to an exclusive lounge featuring gaming consoles, snacks, and Wi-Fi, all under the watchful eye of specialized staff. Once onboard, the cabin crew provides continuous supervision and assistance, catering to special dietary needs and seating preferences. This meticulous handover process continues at the arrival airport, where staff ensure the child is safely reunited with their designated guardian, providing peace of mind for families throughout the journey.
