Shandong Province’s Automotive Industry Boosts Ties in Sharjah
On August 4, the Sharjah Expo Centre became the stage for the "Shandong Quality World Wide" Automotive & Auto Parts Industry Promotion Matchmaking Conference. As a key manufacturing hub in China, Shandong brought a delegation of 51 top-tier companies to the UAE, showcasing everything from new energy vehicle systems to traditional chassis and braking components. Organized by the Shandong Department of Commerce and held alongside the METAS 2026 expo, the initiative aimed to connect the province’s comprehensive supply chain directly with global buyers, streamlining the path for Middle Eastern, African, and Asian markets to access high-quality Chinese automotive goods.
The event proved highly effective, utilizing big data to pre-arrange over 90 targeted one-on-one meetings between the 120 attending international buyers and Shandong’s manufacturers. This precision-focused approach resulted in over $6.8 million in tentative orders, covering diverse agreements ranging from bulk supply deals to regional distribution partnerships. By facilitating these connections, the event helped small and medium-sized enterprises bypass the high costs of individual overseas sales trips, fostering long-term relationships built on the reliability and compatibility of Shandong’s industrial ecosystem. Looking ahead, provincial authorities plan to continue this strategy, leveraging professional trade fairs to further expand the global footprint of Shandong’s manufacturing sector.
