DP World Expands China-Africa Trade Route with New Weekly Shipping Service
DP World is set to significantly bolster trade ties between the Far East and Africa with the launch of its new "China Africa Link." Scheduled to debut in late November 2026, this weekly maritime service will connect major Chinese export hubs—including Shanghai, Ningbo, and Nansha—directly with critical gateways in Tanzania and Mozambique. By integrating Port Klang and Singapore into the rotation, the service offers businesses a more resilient and versatile supply chain, catering to the rising demand for efficient logistics between these rapidly growing economic regions.
This initiative is a cornerstone of DP World’s "Connected Trade Corridors" strategy, which aims to unify maritime, port, and inland transport operations into a seamless network. Beyond just moving cargo, the service is designed to facilitate the exchange of essential goods ranging from Chinese electronics and construction materials to African agricultural commodities and minerals. This operational expansion aligns with DP World’s massive infrastructure investments in the region, including significant modernization projects at the Port of Dar es Salaam and the expanded container terminal in Maputo, ensuring that both local and international businesses have the infrastructure needed to thrive in an evolving global trade landscape.
