Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum Begin Gas Deliveries to Iraq’s Power Grid

Tue, Aug 4, 2026(45d ago)Business

Dana Gas and Crescent Petroleum have officially commenced natural gas supplies from the Khor Mor field to Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity. This initiative, formalized by an agreement last December, involves delivering 100 MMscf/d to the Kirkuk Taza power station. The project serves as a critical move to bolster the nation's energy infrastructure and improve electricity services, with the initial supply contract set for a one-year period.

This operational milestone was made possible by the successful completion of the KM250 expansion project, which boosted the Khor Mor facility's production capacity by 50% to 750 MMscf/d. Leadership from both companies emphasized that this expansion not only supports the Kurdistan Region’s energy needs but also strengthens Iraq’s national power grid. With a history of over $4 billion in investments and the creation of tens of thousands of jobs, the partnership continues to play a vital role in providing affordable power to millions across the region while securing long-term energy stability.
