UAE-EAEU Trade Partnership Surges by 15% to Dh121 Billion
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between the UAE and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is already yielding significant results, with bilateral trade climbing 15 percent to hit Dh121.1 billion. This growth trajectory was underscored by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, during the Eurasian Economic Forum held in Astana, Kazakhstan. The agreement, which was designed to strip away trade barriers and foster deep-rooted cooperation, is playing a pivotal role in the UAEâs broader strategy to diversify its economy and strengthen its standing as a major global trade hub.
During the forum, the UAE reaffirmed its commitment to deepening ties with EAEU membersâArmenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russiaâwith a particular emphasis on modernizing logistics and streamlining trade routes. Kazakhstan remains a cornerstone of this relationship, as the UAE continues to hold its position as the nation's top Arab trading partner, contributing to an 8.6 percent increase in trade between the two countries. Through high-level meetings with regional trade officials and financial leaders, Dr. Al Zeyoudi emphasized that these strategic partnerships are essential for unlocking new investment avenues and promoting sustainable economic expansion across the Eurasian corridor.
