Samsung’s New Galaxy Buds Could Feature a Unique Clip-On Design

Thu, Jul 30, 2026(2h ago)Technology

Samsung is shaking up its audio lineup with the development of a fresh, unconventional pair of wireless earbuds. Leaked images, reportedly sourced from a company app, reveal a distinctive design that clips onto the outer ear rather than nesting inside the ear canal. Known tentatively as the Galaxy Buds On—and previously rumored to be called the Galaxy Buds Able—these devices carry the model number SM-U600, a departure from the standard naming conventions used for the brand's traditional in-ear models.

The primary appeal of this new design is its open-ear architecture, which allows users to enjoy their favorite media while remaining fully aware of their environment, such as traffic or ambient chatter. This makes them an ideal companion for outdoor workouts or long commutes. While it remains unclear whether these earbuds will utilize bone-conduction technology or traditional speakers, they are expected to provide a more comfortable, breathable listening experience compared to the canal-clogging Galaxy Buds4 Pro. While official details on features like AI integration and pricing are still under wraps, tech enthusiasts are keeping a close watch on major upcoming events like IFA Berlin for a potential debut.
