Apple Enthusiasts Eyeing the iPhone 18 Pro Face Potential Price Hikes

Wed, Aug 5, 2026(2h ago)Technology

If you are planning to upgrade to the next generation of Apple’s flagship handsets, you might want to start setting aside a bit more cash. Recent analysis from Jeff Pu at GF Securities suggests that both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could see a significant price jump of $250 to $300 compared to previous models. This shift is primarily driven by the escalating costs of advanced 2-nanometre silicon, as well as premium DRAM and NAND storage. The high global demand for AI-focused hardware and data center components has only added further strain to the supply chain, forcing a departure from earlier hopes that Apple might keep pricing stable.

For consumers in the UAE, this potential increase could lead to a noticeable shift in retail pricing. While the iPhone 17 Pro currently starts at Dh4,699 and the Pro Max at Dh5,099, applying these projected hikes suggests the new models could hit the market ranging anywhere from Dh5,799 to Dh6,399. While Apple has yet to confirm these figures or officially announce the devices, industry watchers expect a September debut for the Pro lineup. It is important to remember that these estimates remain speculative, as regional pricing strategies often account for VAT and local market variables rather than simple currency conversions.
