The company reported that the destruction in Bahrain was so extensive that it surpassed the resilience capabilities of its multi-zone infrastructure, forcing the permanent suspension of that region. While most customers were advised to migrate their workloads early in the crisis, those who could not relocate their data before the secondary failures are now facing a total loss of access to those resources.

In the United Arab Emirates, the situation remains fluid, with AWS currently focused on replacing compromised hardware in the affected mec1-az2 zone while maintaining operations in the remainder of the region. The company has stated it is working closely with local authorities and affected clients to implement recovery solutions and utilize backups where possible. AWS has committed to providing long-term support for its Middle Eastern clients, promising further updates on UAE restoration efforts in the coming months and a comprehensive status report on the Bahrain operations by early 2027.
