Meta Restricts Free Link Sharing for Professional Facebook Accounts
Meta has introduced a significant shift for Facebook professional accounts following the launch of its "Meta One" subscription service. Previously, these accounts could share an unlimited number of external links, but many users are now seeing this capacity capped at just two links per month. This restriction extends to captions and comment sections, effectively pushing business page owners toward paid subscription tiers if they wish to drive traffic to their websites or manage their content more effectively.
To bypass these limits, Meta is encouraging creators and businesses to sign up for various Meta One tiers, which offer monthly link allowances ranging from eight to unlimited posts and reels, depending on the plan selected. While links to Meta’s own ecosystem, product catalogs, and advertisements remain exempt from these caps, the new structure represents a major change for organic social media marketing. With pricing starting at various monthly rates, Meta aims to monetize its platforms by packaging these link-sharing capabilities alongside advanced AI features and audience engagement tools.
