Dubai’s Palm Monorail Officially Reopens After Six-Month Maintenance Break
After a six-month hiatus, the iconic Palm Monorail is officially back in service, providing visitors and residents once again with a seamless way to navigate the Palm Jumeirah. The transit operator confirmed the return of operations via social media, inviting the public to start booking their journeys through official channels. The suspension, which began back in January, was necessary to facilitate critical station upgrades and maintenance work, during which time commuters had to rely on alternative transport like the RTA’s Hala Taxi service.
Spanning 5.5 kilometers, this monorail system remains the exclusive public transit network for the island, connecting vital stops such as Palm Gateway, Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall, and Atlantis Aquaventure. Beyond its utility, the line is a favorite for tourists due to the stunning, unobstructed views of the Palm it offers during the trip. With single-trip fares beginning at just Dh5 and round-trip tickets starting at Dh10, the service provides an accessible and scenic way to explore the heart of Dubai’s most famous man-made island.
