While the day will start off relatively calm, residents should keep an eye on the sky as convective cloud formations are anticipated across eastern and southern regions, likely triggering rainfall by the afternoon. Winds will remain light to moderate, generally blowing from the southeast to the northeast at speeds up to 40 km/hr, while sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to remain slight.

Temperatures will continue to climb, peaking at a scorching 48ºC in some parts of the country, with Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah all reaching highs of 46ºC. This trend of unstable weather is set to persist through August 6, driven by a combination of surface and upper-air low-pressure systems. Meteorologist Ahmed Habib from the NCM suggests that the current El Niño wave may be contributing to these unusual summer showers, bringing some relief—or at least a change of pace—to the region’s intense heat.
