UAE Taxpayers Get New Payment Flexibility with Tabby and Jaywan
The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) in the UAE has officially broadened its payment landscape by incorporating Tabby and Jaywan as accepted methods for settling tax obligations. This initiative is part of a larger government strategy to provide residents with more flexible financial solutions, mirroring the growing trend of integrating "buy now, pay later" services into official government portals. By simplifying the payment process, authorities aim to make it easier for taxpayers to manage their dues without the burden of immediate, full-amount settlements.
This latest development follows a series of successful rollouts across various government departments, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). Since late last year, the Ministry of Finance has championed this model, allowing citizens and residents to split government fees and fines into manageable monthly installments of up to Dh20,000. Under these agreements, Tabby settles the total balance with the government entity immediately, while the individual repays the amount through a structured, interest-free installment plan tailored to their financial needs.
