Dubai Ride Returns: RTA Issues Traffic Advisory for Sunday
Motorists in Dubai should prepare for significant traffic disruptions this Sunday, November 1, as the city hosts the highly anticipated Dubai Ride. In support of the event, which marks the start of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced temporary road closures across several key areas. Officials are urging drivers to plan their commutes well ahead of time, as travel delays are expected to impact major thoroughfares, most notably Sheikh Zayed Road, between the hours of 3 am and 9:30 am.
The event features two distinct paths: a challenging 12km course along Sheikh Zayed Road for seasoned cyclists and a shorter 4km route designed for families and beginners. Participants are required to wear an official bib number to access the tracks, and organizers have set a strict schedule, with the event kicking off at 6 am. Since road closures will be implemented early, organizers strongly recommend that riders arrive between 4 am and 6 am to ensure they reach their start gates on time, as late arrivals may be denied entry to the course.
