Dubai has officially launched its security planning phase for the highly anticipated 2027 New Year’s Eve celebrations, with the Events Security Committee recently convening for its inaugural briefing. As the Burj Khalifa continues to serve as a world-renowned centerpiece for the festivities, drawing massive crowds of residents and tourists alike, authorities are prioritizing early preparation to ensure a seamless experience. The meeting, held at Emaar’s headquarters and led by Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, brought together key stakeholders from the Dubai Police, Civil Defence, and various traffic and government departments to coordinate logistics and public safety measures.
During the session, the organising committee outlined the projected activities and established crowd management strategies for entry and exit points across the event venues. Brigadier Al Ketbi highlighted that the event’s increasing popularity and extensive international media coverage require a refined and proactive approach. He underscored the necessity of upgrading past security protocols to accommodate larger attendance figures, emphasizing that maintaining Dubai’s global standing as a premier destination relies on the collective efforts and professional collaboration of all participating authorities.
