Everything You Need to Know for Dubai Ride 2026
As Dubai prepares for the return of the Dubai Ride on November 1, the city’s iconic Sheikh Zayed Road is set to transform into a massive cycling track for the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Participants can choose between the challenging 12km Sheikh Zayed Road course or the more relaxed 4km Downtown Family Route, both of which offer breathtaking views of landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future. It is important to remember that this is a community event rather than a race, and all riders must adhere to a 25kmph speed limit while completing their chosen circuit.
To participate, you must register online in advance, as bib numbers are mandatory for everyone on the course. You can collect your bib and any pre-ordered T-shirts at the Zabeel Park Fitness Village until October 31. On the morning of the event, aim to arrive between 4am and 6am, as road closures will be in effect early. While the Dubai Metro will begin operating at 3am to accommodate riders, please note that bicycles are strictly prohibited on trains, so you will need to plan your transport accordingly. If you are driving, make use of the designated parking at Dubai World Trade Centre or The Dubai Mall, but get there early to secure a spot.
Finally, safety and preparation are paramount for a smooth experience. Every cyclist must wear a helmet and have their assigned bib number clearly displayed; without these, you will not be permitted to ride. Ensure your bicycle is in good working order, and remember to bring a filled water bottle, as there are no bag-drop facilities available. While standard bikes and pedal-assisted e-bikes are welcome, motorized scooters and electric motorbikes are not allowed. Dress in comfortable sports gear and stay hydrated to make the most of this unique opportunity to cycle through the heart of Dubai.
