UAE Achieves Record-Breaking 98.6% Amicable Resolution Rate in Labour Disputes

Wed, Aug 5, 2026(1h ago)UAE

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has reported a remarkable success rate in its labour relations framework, resolving 98.6% of all employment disputes amicably during the first half of 2026. Out of 185,793 reported cases, only a tiny fraction—just 1.4%—required judicial intervention. This impressive outcome is largely driven by the ministry’s authority to directly settle claims up to Dh50,000, which has significantly expedited the justice process while reducing the caseload for local courts.

This efficiency is supported by a sophisticated digital ecosystem, most notably the upgraded Wage Protection System (WPS), which allows officials to proactively monitor salary payments and address potential grievances before they escalate. By prioritizing swift, professional mediation and leveraging data-driven regulatory tools, the ministry has fostered a transparent and balanced working environment. These ongoing improvements have solidified the UAE’s reputation for industrial stability, earning the nation the top spot in the World Competitiveness Yearbook for having the lowest number of labour disputes worldwide.
