The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially broadened its popular Bus-On-Demand service to include Al Satwa, Al Quoz, and Mirdif, bringing the total number of serviced neighborhoods across Dubai to 20. Designed to offer a more flexible alternative to fixed-route transport, this initiative is a major step in improving first- and last-mile connectivity for commuters. By allowing users to book shared rides through a dedicated mobile app, the RTA is making it significantly easier for residents and visitors to travel between their homes and the city’s major public transport hubs.

The service has seen a remarkable surge in popularity, recording over half a million passengers in the first half of 2026—a 25% increase compared to the same period last year. To keep up with this rising demand, the RTA has grown its fleet to 55 buses and expanded its operational reach by 54%. Passengers can easily book their trips and pay via credit card, debit card, or their nol card, reflecting the authority’s ongoing commitment to building a smarter, more sustainable, and seamless public transportation network for all of Dubai.
