UAE weather update: Rainfall forecast for eastern regions
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted a mix of fair to partly cloudy conditions across the UAE for Thursday, August 6, 2026. While most of the country will experience relatively calm weather, those in the eastern and southern parts should prepare for potential rainfall. By the afternoon, convective clouds are expected to build up, bringing heavy downpours specifically to areas like Fujairah, Al Ain, and Ras Al Khaimah. Sea conditions throughout the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are anticipated to remain slight.
Residents should also brace for shifting winds, as light to moderate southeasterly breezes will transition to northwesterly throughout the day. These winds may pick up speed, occasionally reaching 40 kmph and causing dusty conditions in some regions. Meanwhile, temperatures remain high, fluctuating between 30°C and 48°C nationwide. Both Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected to see peaks around 44°C, following a record-breaking heat wave that saw the country reach a staggering 51.2°C just yesterday.
