Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa’s Return to the Arab Stage
During his recent visit to the UAE for the Arab Media Summit, Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa held a high-level meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE. Sheikh Mohammed warmly welcomed the Syrian leader, emphasizing the deep-rooted brotherhood between the two nations. In a statement shared on social media, he expressed his optimism regarding Syria’s ongoing recovery, stating that the UAE is pleased to see the nation steadily returning to a path of development and stability.
The summit also served as a platform for President Al Sharaa to discuss the strengthening economic partnership between the two countries. He highlighted significant Emirati interest in Syria’s reconstruction, pointing to strategic investments by figures like Mohamed Alabbar and infrastructure projects involving DP World at the Port of Tartous. By framing Syria as a rising strategic and economic opportunity rather than a source of regional volatility, Al Sharaa underscored that his country's path to prosperity is essential for the collective stability of the entire region.
