A significant seismic event struck the Mindanao region of the Philippines this past Monday. According to data released by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the tremor registered at a magnitude of 6.3, drawing immediate attention from regional monitoring agencies.
The earthquake originated at a depth of approximately 117 kilometers, or about 72.7 miles, beneath the surface. While the depth of the quake may influence its surface impact, authorities and local residents are currently assessing the situation for any potential damages or aftershocks that might follow.
