Oman Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking with Two Major Arrests
The Royal Oman Police recently intensified their efforts against illicit activities, announcing the arrest of two individuals caught trafficking a wide variety of narcotics. The suspects were apprehended in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, where they were allegedly distributing large quantities of crystal meth, heroin, hashish, marijuana, and various psychotropic tablets. The operation, led by the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, is now moving into the formal legal phase as authorities process the case.
This crackdown follows a separate, larger-scale enforcement action in Muscat, where police detained 40 individuals of diverse nationalities for a multitude of violations. Beyond issues related to residency and labor laws, those arrested were found in possession of counterfeit currency, banned items, and illegal narcotics, while also facing accusations of violating public decency standards. These coordinated efforts by the Muscat Police Command and the Special Police Task Command highlight the Sultanate's ongoing commitment to maintaining public safety and curbing organized crime across the region.
