A devastating fire erupted on an Indonesian ferry this Sunday, resulting in five confirmed deaths and leaving 41 passengers missing. The vessel, which was traveling from East Java’s Surabaya to South Sulawesi’s Makassar, prompted a desperate scene as many passengers were forced to jump overboard to escape the flames. While 225 people were successfully rescued by nearby ships, the search for those still missing remains active under the guidance of the National Search and Rescue Agency, Basarnas.
