Dubai Gold Prices Hold Steady Near Record Highs
Gold prices in Dubai have remained resilient, hovering near record peaks this Monday morning following a notable rally throughout the previous week. According to data from the Dubai Jewellery Group, 24K gold opened at Dh522.75 per gram, marking only a marginal dip from Friday’s closing price. Meanwhile, other variants—specifically 22K, 21K, and 18K—saw slight adjustments, trading at Dh484, Dh464.25, and Dh397.75 per gram, respectively, as market participants wait for upcoming US economic data to dictate the metal's next move.
Beyond the immediate market fluctuations, experts suggest that the recent surge in gold prices is rooted in structural shifts within the industry, particularly across Asian markets. Simon-Peter Massabni of XS.com notes that the rise is no longer just a reaction to traditional triggers like inflation or geopolitical instability. Instead, the growing value of gold is being bolstered by a more sophisticated financial infrastructure, including enhanced storage capacities and the launch of new investment products, which are fundamentally changing how the precious metal is traded and viewed by long-term investors.
