Modon Secures Record Dh13.7 Billion Financing to Fuel Expansion
Modon Holding has successfully closed its largest-ever financing deal, securing Dh13.7 billion ($3.7 billion) to bolster its development pipeline and optimize its financial standing. The landmark agreement, which was oversubscribed by more than 1.5 times, drew significant interest from a broad spectrum of local, regional, and international banking institutions. This massive influx of capital, comprised of both conventional and Islamic financing, is set to double the firm's average debt maturity while providing the liquidity needed to accelerate its ambitious project portfolio.
The facility is structured into a Dh4.7 billion five-year term loan and a Dh9 billion revolving credit line, with an optional accordion feature allowing for an additional Dh4 billion in funding. Group CFO Matt Matharu highlighted the deal as a testament to investor confidence in Modon’s multifaceted business strategy, which spans real estate, tourism, hospitality, and asset management. By securing this flexible, large-scale capital, the Abu Dhabi-based company is well-positioned to maintain its growth trajectory while enhancing its balance sheet stability for future ventures.
