Adnoc Secures Long-Term LNG Supply Deal with Gujarat Energy

Fri, Nov 6, 2026(1h ago)Business

Abu Dhabi’s Adnoc has officially entered into a decade-long agreement to provide India’s Gujarat Energy Ltd (GEL) with up to 4 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Scheduled to commence in 2028, this deal marks a significant milestone as it represents the first time Adnoc is sourcing gas from its international XRG portfolio to fulfill an overseas contract. This partnership serves as Adnoc's fifth major LNG supply arrangement within the Indian market, further cementing the company's role as a primary energy partner for the region.

The collaboration leverages GEL’s extensive regasification facilities and its widespread city gas distribution network, which currently spans 44 districts across India. For GEL, this deal is essential in supporting India’s broader transition toward a lower-carbon economy, providing cleaner fuel alternatives for industrial operations, residential cooking, and the expanding green transport sector. By utilizing its specialized marketing platform, Adnoc continues to accelerate its global growth, aiming to reach a capacity of 47 million tonnes per annum beyond 2030 and solidifying its standing as a dominant player in the international energy landscape.
