UAE Mandates Specialized Roles for Emiratisation in Private Healthcare

Tue, Jun 16, 2026(2h ago)UAE

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has introduced a significant update to its employment policies for private healthcare providers. Moving forward, these facilities are required to ensure that at least 50% of their annual Emiratisation quota is dedicated specifically to specialized healthcare positions. This new directive, developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, aims to integrate more UAE nationals into technical and core medical roles, rather than just general skilled positions.

Under the existing framework, private healthcare centers with a workforce of 50 or more employees must maintain a 2% annual increase in their Emirati staff. The latest amendment clarifies that this target must be evenly divided between specialized medical roles and other skilled administrative or support functions. To ensure steady compliance, firms are expected to fulfill these hiring requirements in two phases, meeting half of their annual goal by the end of June and the remainder by the close of the year.
