Abu Dhabi Fines Plastic Plant for Environmental Violations
The Environment Agency of Abu Dhabi (EAD) has issued a Dh15,000 fine to a manufacturing plant in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) for several environmental breaches. Inspectors discovered that the facility was releasing significant air pollutants and had neglected essential maintenance on its storage silos. Furthermore, the plant failed to adopt necessary safeguards required to mitigate emissions, prompting authorities to intervene and demand immediate corrective action.
Since the penalty was imposed, the company has updated its operational practices to meet local environmental standards. The EAD reiterated that these enforcement efforts are critical for protecting public health and improving air quality for both workers and the wider community. As part of a broader push for industrial sustainability, the agency confirmed that it will maintain rigorous, ongoing inspections across the emirate to ensure all businesses strictly adhere to environmental regulations and minimize their ecological footprint.
