Abu Dhabi Launches SAKINA for Children to Revolutionize Pediatric Mental Health
Abu Dhabi has officially introduced "SAKINA for Children," a specialized mental health service designed to support the psychological wellbeing of youth up to age 18. Launched by Pure Health during the UAEâs Year of the Family, this initiative emphasizes the vital role of family support in building resilient communities. The program offers a comprehensive care model that bridges outpatient services, early intervention, and inpatient care. By providing a multidisciplinary approach, the service covers everything from child psychiatry and speech-language therapy to behavioral interventions, all delivered in an environment specifically designed to be inclusive and child-friendly.
The initiative stands out for its commitment to personalized care, with inpatient units that cater to individual developmental needs, clinical history, and family dynamics. Operating across a vast network of clinics and hubs, the service is equipped to treat up to 500 children monthly in multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, and Malayalam. By utilizing evidence-based assessment tools and maintaining international safety standards, SAKINA for Children aims to reshape the landscape of pediatric mental health, ensuring that every child receives precise, compassionate, and continuous support throughout their journey to recovery.
