UAE expands automatic degree recognition to four more universities
The UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has officially expanded its Automatic Qualifications Recognition Initiative, welcoming four additional institutions into the fold. Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Sharjah Maritime Academy, Imam Malik College for Sharia & Law, and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai are the latest to join, pushing the total number of recognized universities to 42. With another 15 institutions currently in the onboarding process, the ministry is rapidly scaling its efforts to modernize administrative workflows for graduates across the nation.
This initiative serves as a cornerstone of the UAEâs "Zero Government Bureaucracy" strategy, designed to replace sluggish manual processes with efficient, digital-first solutions. By automating the recognition of academic credentials, the ministry has already successfully handled over 20,000 requests, significantly easing the transition for students entering the job market. This achievement was recently celebrated with the Zero Government Bureaucracy Award, highlighting the ministryâs dedication to removing administrative roadblocks and providing a seamless, user-friendly experience for all alumni.
