UAE authorities dismantle major drug trafficking ring and arrest 24 suspects
The UAE’s narcotics agency, working in close collaboration with the Federal Narcotics Control Prosecution and Ras Al Khaimah Police, has successfully neutralized a sophisticated drug distribution network. The operation, which took place on June 16, resulted in the apprehension of 24 individuals involved in the illegal trade of narcotics and psychotropic substances. Acting on a tip-off, authorities uncovered a hidden cache of drugs, leading to a coordinated security sweep that effectively prevented a massive shipment from reaching the streets.
During the investigation, the suspects confessed that their operations were being directed by a ringleader based abroad. This revelation triggered a nationwide manhunt that spanned Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman, leading to the capture of several additional members and the discovery of a secondary storage site filled with marijuana, hash oil, and synthetic substances. The entire group is now in custody, and all confiscated materials have been sent to forensic laboratories for further analysis as the Federal Narcotics Prosecution prepares for formal legal proceedings.
