UAE Weather Update: Fog Warnings Issued as Temperatures Climb to 45ºC
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted generally fair weather for Friday, June 19, though residents should prepare for significant humidity levels heading into the night and early Saturday morning. There is a strong likelihood of mist and fog forming, particularly in western coastal regions. Consequently, authorities have issued red and yellow fog alerts, which are expected to remain in effect until 9:00 AM.
In response to the low visibility, Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to drive with extreme caution and strictly adhere to the variable speed limits posted on digital signage. As part of these safety measures, the speed limit on Sheikh Salama Bint Butti Road has been reduced to 80 km/h. Meanwhile, the region will experience light to moderate winds reaching speeds of up to 30 km/h, and coastal waters are expected to remain relatively calm. Temperatures are set to soar, with highs peaking at 45ºC in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, and 43ºC in Dubai, while all three cities will see overnight lows dropping to around 30ºC.
