Dubai Police Launches New Road Safety Initiative with Car Prizes

Fri, Jun 19, 2026(2h ago)UAE

In a concerted effort to foster safer driving habits and curb road accidents, Dubai Police has officially kicked off its new "Drive with Awareness" campaign. Partnering with various private organizations, the initiative highlights the most frequent causes of accidents on the emirate's roads, such as tailgating, speeding, distracted driving, and unsafe lane changes. By emphasizing collective responsibility, the campaign aims to bolster public awareness and ensure motorists adhere to traffic laws, ultimately supporting Dubai’s long-term vision of sustainable and accident-free transportation.

To boost public engagement, authorities have introduced an interactive social media competition that rewards participants with a chance to win one of two vehicles. Running for two weeks, the contest challenges drivers to answer road safety questions, offering educational guidance to those who miss a question to help improve their driving knowledge. This creative approach comes on the heels of a positive report from the Traffic Awareness Department, which noted a 19 percent drop in traffic fatalities between 2024 and 2025—a success attributed to the integration of smart surveillance, stricter enforcement, and proactive community outreach.
