Sharjah Resident Faces Trial Over Alleged Assault of Delivery Driver

Sat, Jun 20, 2026(2h ago)UAE

A resident in Sharjah is currently standing trial following accusations that he assaulted a delivery driver during a heated dispute over a payment transaction. The incident reportedly began when the driver arrived at the defendant's home to deliver a package and collect payment. After receiving the funds, the courier realized he lacked the necessary change to return the excess amount, which triggered a verbal altercation between the two men.

According to the prosecution, the argument quickly turned physical, with the resident allegedly assaulting the worker. While the delivery driver has formally filed a complaint citing physical harm, the defendant has firmly denied all allegations of wrongdoing during his appearance at the Sharjah Misdemeanour Court. The presiding judge has since adjourned the case to review the evidence and hear further arguments before reaching a final verdict.
