Dubai’s First 'Work From Park' Initiative Launches at Al Barsha Pond Park
Dubai Municipality has officially launched its inaugural "Work From Park" initiative at Al Barsha Pond Park, creating a seamless blend of professional productivity and outdoor leisure. Developed in partnership with Group AMANA and Letswork, this innovative space is designed for freelancers, parents, and remote workers who want to break away from the traditional office setting. The facility features three distinct zones, including flexible day-use desks, bookable meeting rooms for teams, and private suites for long-term members. With a daily access fee of Dh50—which includes a complimentary coffee—the project aims to transform public parks into multifunctional community hubs where professionals can balance their career goals with wellness activities like morning yoga or evening running clubs.
The project highlights a shift in how Dubai utilizes public space, opting for a modular construction approach to minimize disruption to the park's environment. Beyond providing desks, the initiative strives to foster a holistic lifestyle, with screens throughout the area providing updates on community wellness events. Officials at Dubai Municipality view this as a pilot program, noting that they are actively gathering visitor feedback to refine the experience. Looking ahead, there is significant potential for this concept to expand to other parks, beaches, and even traditional communal majlis spaces, further solidifying Dubai’s reputation as a city that embraces creative and flexible working environments.
