Revolutionizing Rhythmic Gymnastics with AI-Driven Scoring
Viktoria Leusheva, a 15-year-old student at Repton Dubai, has developed an innovative AI-powered platform called Vika to address the frequent inconsistencies and lack of transparency found in competitive rhythmic gymnastics. Born from her own frustrations as a young athlete who often questioned subjective scoring, the app provides gymnasts with objective performance analysis, detailed feedback, and clear explanations for score deductions. By allowing users to upload their routines for review by qualified judges, Vika ensures that athletes receive professional insights—complemented by video breakdowns and infographics—that were previously inaccessible to many competitors.
The platform has grown rapidly since its inception, now supporting over 3,000 athletes worldwide and even hosting the "Vika DubAI Open" to help gymnasts earn recognized sporting grades. Leusheva’s long-term vision is to push the boundaries of sports technology by collaborating with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence to develop a fully automated, real-time judging system. With the backing of her school and a passion for fairness, she hopes to eventually introduce her technology to the Olympic stage, ensuring that every athlete’s talent is recognized and that subjective bias no longer overshadows merit in the sport.
