Dubai’s Flexible Summer Initiative: Boosting Morale and Productivity

Mon, Aug 3, 2026(58m ago)UAE

Dubai’s "Our Flexible Summer" initiative has proven to be a resounding success, with 98% of government employees reporting significantly higher happiness levels and 97% confirming that their productivity remained steady. Now in its second year, the program—spearheaded by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department—involved over 24,000 staff members across 49 entities. Beyond personal satisfaction, the initiative maintained exceptional service quality, with 96% of participants noting that the flexibility did not compromise the efficiency or standard of government operations.

Abdulla Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of the DGHR, highlighted that these results validate the government's shift toward a more modern, trust-based work ecosystem. By prioritizing work-life balance, Dubai has demonstrated that flexibility serves as a catalyst for innovation and institutional performance rather than a hindrance. Moving forward, the city plans to continue refining these agile work models, viewing the investment in employee wellbeing as a vital component of building a resilient, future-ready government structure that serves as a global benchmark.
