Dubai Traffic Flow Improves Following Major Upgrades to Latifa bint Hamdan Street

Tue, Aug 4, 2026(45d ago)UAE

Motorists navigating the Al Quoz district are experiencing significantly faster commutes following recent infrastructure enhancements on Latifa bint Hamdan Street. According to Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the addition of a new lane across a kilometer of service road and the construction of two strategic U-turns near the Al Asayel Street intersection have successfully slashed traffic congestion by 30 percent. These adjustments have bolstered the service road's capacity from 600 to 1,000 vehicles per hour, ensuring a much smoother flow during the daily rush.

This project is part of a broader, data-driven initiative by the RTA to address bottlenecks in Dubai's rapidly expanding urban landscape. As a vital artery connecting major residential and industrial hubs, Latifa bint Hamdan Street serves as a critical link between key highways like Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street. Beyond these immediate fixes, the authority is gearing up for an ambitious Dh2-billion development plan that will eventually create a 12-kilometre strategic corridor. Featuring multiple bridges and tunnels, this future expansion aims to link Sheikh Zayed Road directly with Emirates Road, further cementing the city’s commitment to world-class traffic management and infrastructure growth.
