Dubai International Driving Permit Now Available in Minutes at DXB

Tue, Sep 15, 2026(2h ago)UAE

Traveling abroad just got a lot easier for Dubai residents, thanks to a new service at Dubai International Airport that allows motorists to secure an International Driving Permit (IDP) in just five minutes. Operating around the clock at the Terminal 3 Arrivals Customer Happiness Centre, this initiative is a joint effort between the GDRFA, the RTA, and the Emirates Automobile and Touring Club. To take advantage of this instant service, travelers simply need to bring their Emirates ID, a valid UAE driving license, a passport copy, and a recent photograph.

This new facility is a significant upgrade for those who may have overlooked their travel documentation until the last minute. While traditional methods involve online applications or visiting specific offices—often involving a waiting period of several days—this airport service leverages integrated digital systems to verify credentials and issue permits on the spot. By streamlining the process at one of the world's busiest travel hubs, officials are aiming to enhance the overall passenger experience and ensure that UAE drivers can legally navigate foreign roads with confidence as soon as they land.
