Community Rallies to Support British Teacher in Dubai Following Tragic Loss
A former GEMS Founders School teacher, Zoey Campbell-Lowndes, is currently fighting for her life in a Dubai intensive care unit following the devastating loss of her baby at 30 weeks. After undergoing an emergency C-section, Zoey suffered severe complications, including internal bleeding, organ failure, and the need for dialysis and blood transfusions. While her family navigates this heartbreaking tragedy, they have been met with an unexpected financial burden; they discovered that their insurance policy, which they believed would cover such emergencies, only extended to the baby and not to the mother.
In response to the mounting medical bills, which have already surpassed £100,000, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist the family. The community has shown incredible generosity, raising over £104,000 toward their goal. Former colleagues and the GEMS administration have expressed their deep sorrow and ongoing concern for her recovery, while respecting the family's privacy. As Zoey remains in an induced coma, her loved ones continue to urge the public for support to help manage the overwhelming hospital costs during this unimaginably difficult time.
