Ras Al Khaimah is embarking on an ambitious project to transform Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest peak, into a world-class destination for outdoor enthusiasts. At the heart of this expansion is the "Grand Loop," an expansive 80km trail network designed to connect existing paths for hikers, cyclists, and campers. Alongside this flagship route, developers are introducing a challenging five-day Via Ferrata that spans 20km of rugged cliffs, supported by a network of mountain shelters. These initiatives are being complemented by extensive trail rehabilitation at the Wadi Khammed–Hidden Oasis, where experts are implementing professional building techniques, improved signage, and specialized rock crossings to enhance both safety and navigation.

To ensure this growth remains sustainable, the development is being guided by a comprehensive biodiversity study that identified diverse local wildlife, including the Arabian red fox and the Afro-Asiatic wildcat. By using this environmental data to inform habitat protection, the project aims to preserve the mountain's natural character while offering visitors a deeper connection to the terrain.
